[Buildroot] date format not correct

I have a problem with the result from date
 
# date
y at 11 11:21:30 UTC 2009
 
 
it should return something like 
sat apr 11  11:21:30 UTC 2009
 
i am using uclibc 30.1 and bb 1.13.3
